Millstone

What is this pain that I bear,

My albatross that doesn't bare.
My heart breaking to pieces
every time it sees the braces
that holds this motley crowd;
Each in its own hell
Living the fire of inferno.
Hanging from my neck
My millstone I carry.

Hanging on your neck you carry a millstone
the stone, weight of bindings social and destined
You who have fought destiny, why lament thus?
Throw off the noose, and shed the weight
let your spirit take wings to soar
with no albatross around your neck
to choke, to make you dither
Take off my seagull, measure the expanse of the sky
Soar till you tire , till you can rest on the warm sand and retire
